  2. Check the legend. Every symbol, abbreviation, and line type should be defined – it is your key to everything that follows.
  3. Trace the signal flow. Follow sources through processing to displays, noting signal and connector types.
  4. Cross-reference the floor plan and rack elevations. Match each device on the plan to its position in the rack and its tag in the schedules.
  5. Finish with the cable schedule. Confirm every run has a number, endpoints, and a cable type – and that device IDs match the diagrams.

When device IDs are consistent across the diagrams, plans, and schedules, the set is coordinated. When they are not, that is your first sign of a problem.
